Who is the national alliance on mental illness

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is a non-profit organization that provides support, education, and advocacy for individuals and families affected by mental illness. NAMI was founded in 1979 and is currently the largest grassroots mental health organization in the United States, with over 600 local affiliates and state organizations.

NAMI provides a variety of resources and programs, including support groups, education and training, public awareness campaigns, and advocacy efforts aimed at improving access to mental health care and reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness. Their mission is to improve the lives of individuals affected by mental illness through education, support, and advocacy, and to promote recovery and resiliency.
